Why Döttingen?
Döttingen sits in the heart of the Aargau wine region and its festival has real tradition, 2026 marks the 73rd edition, always held on the weekend of the first Sunday in October. Since 1996 it has been organised by the Verein Winzerfest Döttingen, today counting more than 2,500 active members and 22 participating clubs.
What makes the festival special is the mix. Not a pure tasting event but a proper village festival built around wine, with a parade celebrating viticulture, craftsmanship and local customs, accompanied by brass bands. The last edition drew more than 52,000 visitors.
What awaits you
The winegrowers' parade
The heart of the festival, on Sunday at 2 pm. In 2026, 53 floats parade under the motto «Es Glas ide Hand, s Winzerfest im Herz», accompanied by music societies. This is what the association was founded for in 1996.
Winegrowers' market and tastings
At the large winegrowers' market (Saturday 9 am to 4 pm) you can taste and buy the region's wines directly, with more than 100 stalls throughout the village. On top, ten wine tasting stands are spread across the festival grounds.
Festival taverns and entertainment
22 taverns and bars serve all weekend, plus concerts on two stages late into the night. A real village festival, nothing fancy.
A festival with scale
More than 52,000 visitors came to the last edition. For the Aargau wine country, this is THE autumn date.
