On the Ascension weekend the Valais wineries traditionally open their doors, and at the Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen winery in Salgesch more than 50 wines from AOC sites are waiting to be tasted. The visit can be combined with a hike through the Salgesch vineyards, and Restaurant Barrique serves all-you-can-eat raclette, a winegrower's meat fondue or a Valais platter.
