Vino e Pane is Vergani's street party that once a year turns Zentralstrasse in Wiedikon into an Italian piazza. Wine from large-format bottles, fresh bread, street food from pizza to gelato and a live band. No convention centre, no entry fee, just a summer evening with wine under the open sky. Exactly the kind of wine event we love.

What makes the evening special
Wine from large-format bottles
Vergani pours its selection of Italian wines right on the street, happily from magnum and bigger. By the glass instead of the bottle, ideal for tasting.
Street food line-up
From panini to pizza and Ćevapčići, all the way to fries and gelato. Enough of a base so the wine doesn't land in your stomach alone.
Live music from 6:00 pm
The band Gucci Panettone brings Italian summer vibes to Zentralstrasse from 6 pm. Aperitivo mood rather than solemn swirling.
Free and easygoing
No ticket, no registration. You drop by, grab a glass and you're right in the middle of it. A wine event hardly gets more approachable.

Tips for the evening
Come by tram
Trams 2 and 3 stop right around the corner. There is practically no parking in Wiedikon, and if you're tasting, you're better off not driving anyway.
Have Twint or card ready
Cash is not accepted. Food and wine run exclusively via Twint or card, and a CHF 5 deposit is added on the glass and ice bucket.
Coming early pays off
The festival only runs from 5 to 9 pm. If you're there at 6 pm for the live band, you catch the best part of the evening in full.
Both Vergani shops are closed
Due to festival preparations, both Vergani locations stay closed that day. To buy wine, do it at the festival itself or beforehand.
After-party right next door
If 9 pm is too early for you: it continues at the nearby Grand Café Lochergut.
