Weingut Höcklistein lies on upper Lake Zurich in Rapperswil-Jona, on a steep, south-facing slope where wine has been grown for centuries. Like Weingut Schmidheiny in Heerbrugg, Cuvaison in California and Finca Decero in Argentina, it is one of Thomas Schmidheiny's wine estates, and his daughter Lisa Schmidheiny represents the fifth generation of the family in viticulture. The vineyard grows Räuschling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Johanniter, from which the sparkling wine Ufergold is made, vinified as traditional wines, estate wines and single-vineyard wines. At Wein & Sein on Zürcherstrasse 275, bottles are ready for tasting, along with a wine lounge, after-work apéros and the Advent tastings.
