Sagra dell'Uva del Mendrisiotto

The Sagra dell'Uva del Mendrisiotto is one of Switzerland's oldest wine festivals. Born in 1944 as a rural harvest festival in Balerna, it has officially been celebrated since 1957 as the Sagra dell'Uva del Mendrisiotto in Mendrisio, carried by local associations and the Cantina Sociale Mendrisio. Every autumn the Ticino town turns into a big celebration for a weekend, with the Villaggio del Vino e della Musica, the Le Corti courtyard areas and a Mercatino market. Ticino wine takes centre stage, which visitors can taste at numerous stands in the Villaggio del Vino.
