Germanier Cave du Tunnel

Germanier Cave du Tunnel

1 event · Conthey

Cave du Tunnel takes its name from the rock galleries that founder Jacques Germanier had carved near Conthey in 1968: the wines age inside the rock itself, a technique that brought international recognition to its flagship Brut du Valais. A trained oenologist, Germanier combined respect for Valais terroir with a spirit of innovation from the start and was a pioneer of the art of blending. Today the estate farms 30 hectares across 18 grape varieties between centuries-old dry stone walls and highly varied soils, from granite to schist, favoured by more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year. True to Germanier's conviction that wine tastes even better shared, the estate's own events such as the Tavolata or the Portes Ouvertes open days invite guests to taste together.
