Franz-Josef Mathier

Franz-Josef Mathier AG in Salgesch is both a wine producer and a wine merchant, with roots going back to 1950, when Franz-Josef Mathier began to make wine from his own and purchased grapes. Since 2006, Felizitas Mathier Benicchio has run the business together with her husband Andrea Benicchio. In 1972, her father André Mathier was one of the first winegrowers in Valais to replant Cornalin. The estate has carried the organic Bud label since 2022. Tastings at the winery are by prior booking only, and towards the end of November the cellar days take place with musical accompaniment.
