Next eventLe samedi 12 du 12! «Journée mondiale du Chasselas», Domaine des Muses
Domaine des Muses in Sierre was founded in 1992 by Nicole and Louis Taramarcaz; since 2002 it has been run by their son Robert, who trained at the Valais School of Agriculture, did an internship at Sacred Hill in New Zealand and earned an oenology diploma in Dijon. Across some 15 grape varieties, divided into the Classique, Tradition, Réserve and Séduction ranges, he grows Chasselas and Merlot alongside Valais specialities such as Cornalin, Humagne Rouge, Humagne Blanche and Petite Arvine, with half the estate farmed without herbicides or pesticides since 2012. The wines made it into Parker's guide as «Best of 2012» and have also been praised by Jancis Robinson and Julia Harding MW, with Robert's goal remaining «vins purs, ciselés et droits», pure, precise, straight wines with character. You can taste them by appointment on vineyard and cellar tours, or at the Tavolata Valais Wine and Dine in Sierre.
