Over the past fifteen years, the Basler Wymärt has grown into a fixture of Basel's wine scene: small, refined and friendly, as the organisers themselves describe it. Twice a year, in spring and autumn, winemakers and wine merchants meet buyers at Basel's Markthalle near the SBB train station, with street food on hand for variety. With its family atmosphere and fair prices, the Wymärt ranks among Switzerland's most affordable wine events: the spring 2024 edition, with 48 exhibitors, sold out completely. For Basel locals, it is an easy way into the world of wine, right in the middle of the Markthalle.
