At the Open Bottle Day at Edvin Weine in Aarau, more than 100 wines are open to try, from easy-going after-work wines to special bottles with a story. The team gives advice based on taste, occasion and budget, favourites go onto a wish list via QR scan and can be ordered on site with a festival discount. There are also masterclasses, for example on Joseph Drouhin, Gut Oggau and Champagne Bollinger.

The one-hour basic wine course at the Open Bottle Day is aimed at everyone who enjoys wine but doesn't yet have the words for it. It covers practical, everyday wine knowledge, such as what the label reveals, what dry and off-dry mean and how to find the right wine on the shelf. Learning happens directly with real wines in the glass.

The Masterclass Joseph Drouhin takes you right across Burgundy with four wines from Chablis to Chambolle-Musigny and makes its many appellations and vineyard sites tangible. The Masterclass Gut Oggau dives into the biodynamic world of the estate, whose natural wines bear names like old acquaintances. The Masterclass Champagne Bollinger guides you through four Champagnes from a single house, from the Special Cuvée to the R.D. 2008.
