Delinat is considered Europe's oldest organic wine merchant, founded in Switzerland in 1980 by Karl Schefer. Over 250 organic wines from around 100 family-run wineries in eight European countries are sold through five wine depots in Basel, Bern, Olten, St. Gallen and Winterthur, plus a wine bar in Bern. Delinat has developed its own organic guidelines, stricter than EU organic standards, and runs the Château Duvivier research estate in Provence dedicated to fungus-resistant grape varieties. Across its depots and on wine trips, Delinat regularly holds wine tastings and wine courses.
